A Unique Life
There is one man who is so distinct amongst all other men who have lived upon the earth, that He is worthy of careful examination. Many people have great difficulty with the Christian church and organized religion–and so they should. The religions of men are frequently a catastrophe of errors and diversely opposite from who Jesus is and what He represents.
Jesus is not a religion, He is not a church. He claimed to be God, living within the flesh of a man, and the only Savior of the world. Either He is a liar, a man delusional, or He was telling the truth. It is our responsibility to examine the evidence for His life and determine if He is who He claimed to be.
Jesus never commanded men to join a particular church or religion, He said “Follow Me.”

As we examine human life, we discover that every culture, every country, all people, and nations, have laws which order and direct human activity. Laws are necessary because the basic nature of the human species is towards evil. We are inherently selfish and often seek to look out for our own interests first. Without laws, evil would run rampant over peaceful people who are doing their best to live good and productive lives.
What is the origin of human laws? Where did the framers of the Constitution of the United States find the laws that allow the freedoms that we enjoy as Americans?
The Egyptians, Assyrians, Greeks, and Romans, as well as, many other great an powerful nations of the ancient world, worshipped many different gods. Not one before, ever possessed the laws that were given to the nation that originated from Abraham. When God gave Moses His law on Mount Sinai, these basic ten commandments changed, forever, the course of all human activity. No other nation in the history of the world had the code of moral laws, like those which governed the people of Israel. Every great nation since that time, has fashioned their own laws, from these basic ten laws that Moses received from God. Continue reading “The Bible As The Basis For All Human Laws”
As we consider the theory of evolution, we must ask the question: has man adapted to his environment, and evolved in regards to his treatment of other human beings?
If we examine the entire history of the human species, we discover that people today are no kinder and gentler towards other human beings than they were at any other time in human history. In fact, the cruelty and evil of human activity has grown markedly worse.
If man in in fact, evolving, should there not be some indication of this evolutionary process in his social behavior. What we observe is a species who is the most cruel, and vicious, amongst all the creatures of earth. Continue reading “The Bible Has Told The Truth Regarding The Nature Of Man”
God’s choice for those who will lead others, does not depend on their outward appearance, education, or family background. The Lord chooses people for service based on their inner heart and their desire to do all that He requires. When we examine the prophecies of the Messiah, we find that God’s choosing of His servant to die for the sins of the world–had nothing to do with physical beauty. The Messiah will have no physical beauty that people will be attracted to Him. In fact, He will be greatly disfigured by the suffering of His crucifixion. It will be His character and personality that will attract and draw people to Him.
Isaiah 53:2b … He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
There are some who claim that Isaiah Chapter 53 is a description of the nation of Israel and was not intended for Jesus Christ.
In the Book of Acts, the Lord spoke to Philip and told him to take the road from Jerusalem to Gaza. While on this road, Philip met a man who was apparently there by divine appointment. Candace, the queen of the Ethiopians, had a servant who was returning from Jerusalem where he had been worshipping the God of Israel. While on his return journey, he was reading from the fifty-third chapter of Isaiah. As Philip meets this servant of the queen of Ethiopia, he asks him if he understands what he is reading. It is nearly impossible for any man to make himself the servant of another man in complete humility and sincerity. There is a flawed character in fallen man that is constantly seeking to be exalted and magnified above other men. The Biblical example of leadership that the New Testament reveals—uses the example of Jesus Christ as a basis for what a servant of God should exemplify.
To become a true servant of others is the highest form of leadership that the Old Testament prophecies ascribe to the Messiah’s purpose. Although Jesus is described as God Himself and the Creator of all that exists, He makes Himself a Servant of the creation He made, in order to redeem it back to the glory He originally intended.

There are many people, who over the course of their life, meet an individual who has claimed to be a Christian—who has exhibited behavior that is contrary to their particular belief, and caused other people to discount God altogether.
An enduring fact of life is that one of the leading causes of atheism is Christianity. Not that Jesus is the point of stumbling, but rather those who claim to follow him. Many people attribute the behavior of a person to the character of the God they claim to believe in. Forgetting that the Christian Gospel clearly declares that Jesus came into the world to save “sinners,” not the righteous. It is the very worst of the world that Jesus is most appealing to. The Christian life in following Jesus is frequently imperfect and lacking the basic qualities of love, patience, humility, and forgiveness. Those who are trying to follow Jesus will never be perfect in this life, although they should endeavor, constantly, to be more like Jesus in all their behavior.
It should also be understood that many people who take the name of “Christian,” are frauds. For reasons of personal financial gain or to achieve a position of authority or power, many individuals will label themselves a follower of Christ, without this fact being true.

Many of the things which are taught in the Christian church today, have nothing to do with Christ, nor has He ever commanded men to obey them.
Jesus came into the world to make a relationship with God simple, easy to understand, and readily accessible to every person. Men have taken the simple Gospel of Jesus Christ and polluted it with many traditions and false religious practices, which are unattractive and repugnant. No wonder that many people in the world today care nothing for organized religion. They have examined the hypocrisy of the various Christian denominations and concluded that they are a fraud. In many cases, their observations are absolutely true. When Jesus came into the world, it was to those who created these false religions that He brought ridicule on condemnation.
The Living God is interested in a relationship with mankind–not a religious experience. He came into the world personally, in the person of Jesus Christ, so that we could understand who God is and how easy it is to have a relationship with Him.
The traditions of men and the false religions of men, is the primary subject of the prophet Isaiah, in describing the coming of the Messiah into the world.
Isaiah 29:13 Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men…” Continue reading “The Traditions of Men, False Religion, and the True Intent of God's Law”
This world cries out for “Peace,” but in all the history of man upon the earth, there has never been a sustained period of time in which peace reigned.
In the last 3,000 years of man’s recorded history, there has only been 286 years without a war. There have been over 15,000 wars resulting in 4 billion deaths.
For the humanist, materialist, and non-theist, this record is a stunning indictment upon the premise that man is evolving into a more civilized and peaceful species.[1a] In fact, the opposite is true. As time progresses, men simply develop more creative ways to kill other men. The Biblical view of man as a fallen being, who is incapable of peace, is precisely what the evidence validates. Unless God intervenes in the history of mankind, we would certainly annihilate our species and destroy the earth.

What is the correct role and function of the Christian church in the world today? Upon careful examination of the Bible, we discover that the church has become something far different from what God intended she be. Rather than the political or moral policeman of society, God intended that the church would be His voice to the world–in declaring who His Messiah is and the great love which He has for the world.
Today, many people are greatly offended by the behavior of those who call themselves “Christians,” and for good reason. There have been thousands of atrocities committed by those who claim to be followers of Jesus–which He never sanctioned, nor did He ever intend for His church.
Jesus desire is that His church would become an extension of Himself. The words, actions, and love that He brought to the world 2,000 years ago–should be exhibited by those who claim to follow Him. The problem with the church of Jesus today is that it has become a religious institution–rather than a living organism, a living body, a manifestation of the true person of Jesus Christ. After many years of conversing with atheists, it has become clear what the real reasons are for their unwillingness to believe that God exists.
Although conversations with those who do not believe in God will eventually venture into their intellectual objections to the Christian Gospel, in truth, their objections are a camouflage for the true barriers of their heart.
The following list is the result of my own observations of those who have told me the many reasons why they do not believe in God. After having had the opportunity to try and get to know the persons who call themselves or live by the defining definition of an atheist, these are the conclusion that I have arrived at.
