The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the most substantially documented event in the history of the world. There is more evidence for Jesus death in Israel, during the time depicted by the New Testament, than any other person in antiquity..
Professor Peter Schäfer, in his book: “Jesus in the Talmud”, records that Talmud Sanhedrin 43a contains the following text regarding Jesus of Nazareth:.
“On (Sabbath eve and) the eve of Passover, Jesus the Nazarene was hanged and a herald went forth before him forty days heralding, “Jesus the Nazarene is going forth to be stoned because he practiced sorcery and instigated and seduced Israel to idolatry. Whoever knows anything in defense may come and state it.” But since they did not find anything in his defense they hanged him on (Sabbath eve and) the eve of Passover. Ulla said: ‘Do you suppose that Jesus the Nazarene was one for whom a defense could be made? He was a mesit (someone who instigated Israel to idolatry), concerning whom the Merciful [God] says: Show him no compassion and do not shield him (Deut. 13:9). With Jesus the Nazarene it was different. For he was close to the government.”[2a]

The Hebrew scriptures describe a time during the history of the earth when God will once and forever, prove that He exists. Isaiah’s prophecy of the Messiah–describes Him as “Mighty God.” When Jesus arrived on the earth, He told Phillip: “If you have seen me, you have seen God.“
When John penned His narrative of Jesus in the New Testament, he describes Jesus as the Eternal Word of God, the “Logos.”
The Religious leaders of Israel picked up stones to kill Jesus, because He had claimed that He was God.
Many skeptics claim that there is no proof for God–if He exists, then He would show Himself to us.
Today, this demand for evidence has been met by Jesus. He came to earth as God–in the form of a man, so that as one of us, He could offer His life as a ransom to redeem every human being from the penalty of our sins–back to God.
It is impossible to legitimately claim today that there is no proof for the existence of God. In these last days, God has revealed Himself, as He has spoken to us, through His Son–by whom He made the universe and everything within it. The facts of Jesus scourging and crucifixion are intricately attested to by the four Gospels of the New Testament. The certainty that these events took place, is firmly established in history as indisputable matters of fact.
By the vast number of Old Testament prophecies, we have compelling evidence that the events of the Messiah’s scourging and His subsequent crucifixion, were well known and widely understood by the Old Testament scriptures. By the prophecies of Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22, we have 55 detailed predictions of every possible aspect of the crucifixion of the Messiah (see Prophecy 242).
When we arrive at the New Testament and discover that both the Bible and Secular history authenticate that Jesus of Nazareth was scourged and then crucified in stunning fulfillment of the many Old Testament references, we have great confidence that Jesus is the Messiah who is described by these prophecies.
Today, the world’s leading scholars agree that the crucifixion of Jesus is an established fact that is based on empirical evidence. As matters of history, the events of the scourging and crucifixion are described as ranking so high in certainty that they are considered by experts as impossible to deny. These facts are the very basis for a foundation that Jesus of Nazareth lived, died, and rose from the dead, in confirmation of the the New Testament narrative. The reason that these facts are certain is that we have the corroboration of not only the Bible, but secular history. The orders of Pontius Pilate to have Jesus scourged and crucified is documented by one of the greatest Roman historians ever to write on this period, Tacitus.

This world cries out for “Peace,” but in all the history of man upon the earth, there has never been a sustained period of time in which peace reigned.
In the last 3,000 years of man’s recorded history, there has only been 286 years without a war. There have been over 15,000 wars resulting in 4 billion deaths.
For the humanist, materialist, and non-theist, this record is a stunning indictment upon the premise that man is evolving into a more civilized and peaceful species.[1a] In fact, the opposite is true. As time progresses, men simply develop more creative ways to kill other men. The Biblical view of man as a fallen being, who is incapable of peace, is precisely what the evidence validates. Unless God intervenes in the history of mankind, we would certainly annihilate our species and destroy the earth.

Scientists understand today that the original assumption that there must be many millions of other planets in the universe, like earth, perfectly suited for life, is now highly implausible. When all the requirements necessary for life are considered, there is very little chance that we will ever find intelligent life on any other planet. Why did the Lord make such a vast and expansive universe, if only to inhabit one tiny planet with Life? The obvious answer is that He was not concerned with making good use of the vastness of the Cosmos, He wanted to display His creative power, much in the same way that a great artist might fill up a canvas with a demonstration of his creative ability.
Psalm 19:1 The a heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. 2 Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. 3 They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. 4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. Questions regarding the origin of the universe are not purely philosophical
There are those who make assertions that there is no evidence for the existence of God. Others claim that the universe exists by purely naturalistic causes.
Are these claims true, and is there credible evidence to believe in the existence of God and that intelligence is a crucial and absolute necessity for the beginning of the universe?
There have been two problems with attempting to set forth these principles:
One: many of the non-theists, particularly those in the 18-29 age group, notoriously refute the questions of why the universe exists, based on the aged and impeached argument that questions for the origin of the universe are entirely philosophical, and not scientific.
Two: The problem in seeking to make a scholarly answer to these questions, due to the fact that all the material tends to become overwhelming to the reader. Continue reading “The Universe that Should Not Exist”
I have thought a lot about those who deny God’s existence; and after decades of observing the character and life of those who reject the Lord, I fail to see the attraction of a life without Him. First of all, the claim that there is no God makes no rational sense to me. It is obvious that we live in a universe that is inexplicable, apart from an eternal intelligence as its source. How highly educated men and woman, who have spent years studying and growing in knowledge, can come to the conclusion that this exceedingly ordered and delicately balanced universe came into being by chance, is a mystery to me. They admit that they have no explanation for how these finely tuned absolutes fixed themselves to allow for life, believing instead that it all happened by blind chance.
Science is based on observable data that can be tested. Since all of the data regarding the existence of the universe points to design and purpose, it seems that wise men and women should not discount the possibility of God as its origin. It is much easier to understand the universe if we put a designer into the equation rather than persisting in an uncaused, accidental universe with no purpose.
