Proving the Existence of God

The fundamental question that must be asked regarding whether or not God exists, is what kind of evidence there is to validate such an assertion?

I have spent more than forty years seeking, examining, and documenting the evidence for God. It is my professional opinion as a researcher, and critical author, that the evidence for the existence of a singular, transcendent, unlimited Being, is substantial, empirical, and conclusive. Those who present an argument that there is no evidence for God are simply misinformed or willfully ignorant. It is impossible to maintain this position due to the massive amount of evidence that resides within the reach of any interested person. Continue reading “Proving the Existence of God”

Honest Men: An Expositional Treatise Of The Life, Death, And Resurrection Of Jesus

The events that took place during the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ are empirically validated by history. Today, any person can know for certain that the New Testament narrative regarding Jesus, is true, accurate, and honest. This book is a reasoned and intelligent examination of these events through the lens of history.

Many people are unaware that there are hundreds of non-biblical documents which describe Jesus of Nazareth as present in Jerusalem during the same period of history that the New Testament Gospels describe Him. These records from the Roman Senate, Jewish Talmud, and various other Greek sources, fully validate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, in cooperation with the Gospel narratives.

Jesus claimed that all of the events that took place during His appearance on earth were predicted in the pages of the Old Testament. Beginning with Moses, through the Prophets, and the Psalms, incredible and impossible predictions were made concerning the Messiah.

When Jesus was resurrected on the third day, He stood in the midst of His disciples and they were deeply troubled. They found it impossible to believe that the man standing there before them was really the same Jesus that they had seen crucified. In response, Jesus said to them:

“Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day.”

Then Jesus said to them:

“These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me”

And then Jesus “opened their understanding so that they could comprehend the Scriptures.”

What were these ancient scriptures that Jesus recounted to the disciples that proved that He had fulfilled all 400 of the Messianic Prophecies and was therefore the true Messiah?

They are the very same prophecies that are contained within this book. From the beginning of the Bible, through every page that predicted and described the Messiah, “Honest Men” recounts all the events that concern the coming of Jesus into the world.

“This book will take you through every part of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, in context with all the Old Testament scriptures. By the time that you finish this book, your knowledge and understanding for who Jesus really is and what He has accomplished for you, will be immensely magnified.” -M.L. Lladas

Forty-two years in the making, this is the singular publication that contains all of the important events of Jesus’ time here on earth and places you alongside Him as one of His disciples as He explains everything that He did.

The Singularity of God: His Existence and Being

COPYRIGHT WARNING

Orion_Nebula_-_Hubble_2006_mosaic_18000The argument that there is no proof for the existence of God is irrational. In fact, there is no reasonable explanation for the universe or life itself, apart from God. The question that has been rightly asked is: “Why is there a universe at all?”

Since everything that exists has an explanation for its existence, there must also be a reason that the universe exists. Since all things that are temporal have a first cause and the universe came into being at some point, then the universe has a first cause. Since it is impossible for anything to cause itself, therefore, the universe is caused by a power that is transcendent of time and space. By the complexity, balance, and design of the universe, we perceive that all things in existence were caused by an infinite intelligence—an intelligence which is without limits and is perfect, knowing all things. Only a perfect and eternal being would have the capacity to create such a universe. I personally do not understand why it is so hard for people to accept that God exists and that He is the most logical explanation for the existence of the universe.

There are two types of things that exist.

Things that exist by necessity.
Things which are caused.

Mathematics exists by necessity. They are not caused to exist by anything else; they exist by their own by necessity.

The universe does not need to exist, it exists because it was caused. Nothing comes into existence apart from intelligence, therefore; God is the most logical cause of the universe, since it would require an infinite intelligence.

A Being which is eternal, such as God, does not require a cause.

The error of evolution is that it cannot explain how life began in the first place.[1] Life was also, not necessary, it was caused. Since Human intelligence requires an equal or greater intelligence to bring us into being, the logical explanation is also God.

Could we imagine that the microprocessors that enable today’s computers to function, came about by random mutations or chance arrangements of atoms? How much more difficult would it be to evolve a human mind, which is exponentially greater in complexity to any microprocessor or sophisticated computer code?

How did God make the universe?

In the beginning there was nothing. The universe did not exist. There were no planets, no stars, not even empty space. Imagine all the matter that makes up the universe, tightly compressed into a particle that is nearly invisible. Scientists believe that it was from this tiny, densely compressed speck of material, that everything that we see today, originated.[2]

At zero linear time, this speck of material exploded and expanded at hundreds of millions of miles per hour. This was an incomprehensible sphere of energy that was dense and compact beyond imagination. The temperature of the initial flash of energy was trillions of degrees. It was a mass of pure plasma expanding at the Speed of Light.[3]

Everything that would exist in our present universe would come from this initial material; the planets, the stars, every living thing; even time and space itself—all things were created at that moment. Continue reading “The Singularity of God: His Existence and Being”

Jesus: He is the Most Interesting Man in the World

Jesus InterestingA Unique Life

There is one man who is so distinct amongst all other men who have lived upon the earth, that He is worthy of careful examination. Many people have great difficulty with the Christian church and organized religion–and so they should. The religions of men are frequently a catastrophe of errors and diversely opposite from who Jesus is and what He represents.

Jesus is not a religion, He is not a church. He claimed to be God, living within the flesh of a man, and the only Savior of the world. Either He is a liar, a man delusional, or He was telling the truth. It is our responsibility to examine the evidence for His life and determine if He is who He claimed to be.

Jesus never commanded men to join a particular church or religion, He said “Follow Me.”

Who Created God?

COPYRIGHT WARNING

Who Created God?The Atheists asks the question, “Who created God?,” assuming that His existence necessitated a cause.

This is a fundamental error that atheists make in their inability to perceive God. They imagine that God must be created. Those who do believe in God, do not believe in a God who came into existence at some point in time. In this manner, Christians also do not believe in the kind of God that the atheists do not believe in.

The fallacy of insisting that God must have a creator Himself, runs an illogical circle of never-ending god’s who were each made by a god before them. In order for one who is truly God to exist, He must be singular and uncreated.

Let us consider this premise: The term “God,” is defined as a Being who is perfect in every regard. Any being who is not perfect would not be God, with a big “G,” he would simply be one god amongst many god’s, little “g.”

Since there can only be one God (big G), this first premise requires that He must be perfect in every regard, incapable of error or wrongful actions. If God were able to commit error, He would not be perfect, and therefore he could not be God. Continue reading “Who Created God?”

Irrefutable Evidence For The Existence Of God

COPYRIGHT WARNING

Is there verifiable evidence for the existence of God? Yes. In fact, the evidence is so substantial, so empirical, so undeniable, we can know for certain that God does exist.

When we consider any event from history as a valid occurrence, we must examine the evidence that those who were present during that time, said or wrote, concerning these events. We know that Abraham Lincoln is a genuine person from history, by the 20,000 documents that exist which authenticate his existence.

We know that World Wars one and two took place, because history has recorded these events.

The existence of God has such a large body of empirical evidence that no reasonable person could deny His existence. Continue reading “Irrefutable Evidence For The Existence Of God”

Jesus Elevates His Authority Above All Other Authority

COPYRIGHT WARNING

When Jesus spoke, He did not speak as other men. Jesus intended that every word He uttered–be interpreted as the words of the Living God. It is clear from the narrative of the four gospels that the disciples of Jesus understood that He was claiming equality with God. Jesus described His authority in teaching the true intent of God’s law, as coming from God Himself. Jesus clearly described Himself as the Author of all the words and laws of God. This assertion is in close alignment with the Hebrew prophets who described the Messiah as coming to earth with the very authority of God Himself. If Jesus is God, Why Did He Refer to the Father as Greater than Himself?

COPYRIGHT WARNING

A confusing aspect of Jesus’ sacrifice for many people is His submission to the Father as a servant. Although Jesus is spoken of as equal to God in every regard, when He came to earth as the Messiah, He set aside some of His rights as God to become the servant, whom Isaiah 53 describes.

Philippians 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

At no time did Jesus ever cease to be God while He was here on earth in the form of a man. He did, however, choose to make Himself of no reputation and take the form of a servant for our benefit. This is stunning when we consider who Jesus has been prior to His appearance on earth as our Savior. The Bible describes Jesus as the second member of the Godhead who spoke the universe into existence (Colossians 1:16-17). He has no beginning; and He is the one to whom all glory, honor, power and dominion are ascribed to by the Bible.[1]

Jesus Suffered For, and Took the Sins of, Those Who Would Never Receive Him

COPYRIGHT WARNING

One of the great mysteries of the universe is that it pleased the Father to bruise His Son and put Him to death for the sins of all people. Why God would allow His Only Son to suffer so greatly for sinners is an unsearchable question that all of us will ponder throughout eternity.

It is certain that one of the reasons why God permitted Jesus to undergo such great trauma is because it brought such great glory and vindication to His name. Satan has made continued accusations that God is not really righteous and fair.[1] These allegations are fully answered by what Jesus has accomplished at the cross. God is not angry and vindictive, as some have believed, but willing to take whatever steps necessary to reveal His hatred of sin and love for people. Much in the same way that a loving parent who observes the suffering of his child because of drugs or alcohol would do anything to eradicate their suffering. So also has God, as a loving Father, sought to eradicate the plague of sin from the lives of all people whom He loves so fervently. In freeing us from our suffering, He was made to watch His own Son suffer unimaginable pain. He allowed this for our benefit. Imagine the intense pain that God felt at seeing His Son tortured to death by evil men. While Jesus had done nothing evil Himself, He was fully committed to allow those who desired His death, to do whatever they wanted to Him. He permitted all of this knowing that His death would free us from our own torture and torment. Continue reading “Jesus Suffered For, and Took the Sins of, Those Who Would Never Receive Him”

Impossible Predictions Which Jesus Perfectly Fulfilled

COPYRIGHT WARNING

There are many of the prophecies of the Messiah which are so difficult and complex that it would be impossible for any one person to fulfill. How would a convicted and destitute criminal arrange to have a wealthy member of the Sanhedrin, give him his own costly tomb to be buried? Seven hundred years before Jesus was crucified and laid in the tomb, Isaiah the Prophet describes the Messiah as He is buried in the tomb of a rich man.

Isaiah 53:9a And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth.

Matthew records Joseph of Arimathea as the rich man described by Isaiah and Nicodemus, also from the Sanhedrin, who came with 100 pounds of costly spices to anoint Jesus body.

Matthew 27:57-60 Now when evening had come, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given to him. When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed.

John 19:38  After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus. 39 And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. 40 Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury. 41 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. 42 So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.

At first glance, many people would wonder why being buried in a rich man’s grave was important to the Messiah’s story. The fact that Jesus was so poor and without any assets of His own, being buried in the tomb of a rich man would be notable and cause for attention. This appears to be one of the reasons that the Lord chose this prophecy to be fulfilled by the Messiah. Continue reading “Impossible Predictions Which Jesus Perfectly Fulfilled”
