We make a hundred decisions every day, most of which, concern us. Do we ever stop to think about what we say and do and how these things affect God? Many of us never consider that we are important enough for God to notice. We are stunned to discover that He is watching us with such interest that he knows how many breaths we have taken on any particular day. He catches all of our tears in a bottle. He has numbered the hairs on our head. We discover that He fashioned us in our mother’s womb and planned all the wonderful days of our life for us, before we were born.
We are confronted with a dangerous enemy. The erosion of the American family and the moral values that define us as a people and a nation have been under attack for more than 50 years. Redefining what constitutes marriage, accepting that gender is determined by personal choice, excluding the voice and choice of people who appose changes in America’s moral history. Taking God out of every resemblance of government, schools, and public offices. Degrading the United States until it no longer resembles its former visage intended by the framers of our Constitution.
This generation has no idea of the former glory of America when people really cared about their neighbors and lived together in peace. The line between morality and immorality has been eroded until its barrier is no loner detectable by young people today.
It is seldom understood why morality is so important to the survival of our nation. Only when we examine the history of the world do we discover that no nation has survived which permitted perversion to be normalized, and the sanctity of human life diminished. Why is it people think that saying something negative about a Christian is okay but not about other religions? What makes Christianity such a threat to people that they exclude those who believe in Jesus from the rules of decency and respect? In an article about Presidential Press Secretary, Sarah Sanders, we see a glimpses of this problem today:
“If someone says something about another faith, particularly liberals come to their defense in a raging motion, but if someone attacks a Christian, it’s perfectly fine. At some point we became a culture that said that was okay.” —Sarah Sanders
When you wake up in the morning how do you start your day? If you are like me, often it’s a cup of coffee and the news. On a few mornings I begin the day with the word of God. Sitting silently in the quiet of early morning, I open my Bible and begin to read and think about what God has written for us. I noticed that when I start the day with the world—listening to the news and what is happening—my day goes far different that it does when I start with the word of God.
As I read and meditate upon what God has said I can feel my heart soaking up the good things He has spoken and a sense of refreshment comes over my soul.
According to critics, there is no evidence for the existence of God. Many people read these comments and take the word of those who make these clams. If this in in fact, true, then why do we find such a great body of evidence to the contrary? All one must do is read the words of the New Testament Gospels and we get a very clear picture of the truth. Continue reading “If God Doesn't Exist, Why Is There So Much Evidence To The Contrary?”→
I can understand the hesitancy of the world and the main stream media to insinuate a spiritual influence as a possible reason for the massacre in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017. In these matters they have very little knowledge and even less, a belief in the supernatural. As one who has spent more than 42 years researching and writing about why human beings do what they do, I know that the presence of demonic beings and their influence over vulnerable individuals is a very real phenomenon.
In 1993, I was teaching a Bible study at my home in Northern California. One of the ladies that had been attending for several months, brought a young lady with her on this particular eventing. About halfway through the Bible study I noticed that each time I said the words: “Jesus Christ,” this young woman turned her head quickly to one side and then the other and opened her mouth as if she was snarling. President Trump was recently gathered with many of his military leaders and made the statement: “This is the calm before the storm?” Some pundits have conjectured that this is an indication of an impending war. For those who watch the world through the lens of Bible Prophecy, we have come to understand that Donald Trump may be a sort of Cyrus from the Old Testament who God used during perilous times to accomplish His will.
The statement, “calm before the storm,” is very similar to Paul’s declaration in 1 Thessalonians 5:3: ” For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.” Paul made this statement in context with the term: “Day Of The Lord,” an inference to the seven year Tribulation Period described by Daniel in chapter 9. At the end of the age, a world leader will appear on the scene who will make a covenant of peace between Israel and the surrounding nations for seven years. During the first three and one-half years there will be a tremendous time of peace on the earth. Suddenly, at the mid-point of the seven years, this world leader will command the world to worship him as God. The Book of Revelation, Jesus, and Daniel, all state that this will begin the Time of Great Tribulation in which two-thirds of the people on earth will die by twenty-one horrendous judgements. It is unclear how any person can live on this good earth and enjoy all of the wonderful gifts it presents us with, without a knowledge that everything came to us by an Infinitely Intelligent, Magnanimously Loving God.
Consider how impossible it is that all of the elements and materials that we are able to build things from and use to make a good life on earth, were placed on this planet on purpose. Left to its own there is no naturalistic process that could have evolved an earth with the precise elements that were necessary to build homes, cars, phones, medical equipment, roads, schools, ships, planes, cars, and construction equipment. Someone created the earth perfectly for us and placed everything we would need to live and flourish on this planet. This is no accident, we are no accident. There are certain times in the history of a nation that require nothing less than prayer. For those who do not understand the power or reason for prayer it is seen as weakness and inaction. For those who have a relationship with God, prayer is a vital link between people in distress and a faithful and capable friend during urgent times of need.
People often think of prayer as an attempt to change the mind or heart of God. In fact, prayer is only intended to change the heart of the one praying. God already wants to help, bless, and provide for people. All He is waiting for is for those who trust in Him to ask. We might wonder why, if God wants to do good, He doesn’t just do what needs to be done. It is important to God that we become involved in His plans for human life. He has made us like Him in that we also have caring hearts and a desire to see good in our world. He makes us co-workers with Him to accomplish His will.
