Great Tribulation: Time Of The End

The Time Of The End Is Upon Us…

For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. —Matthew 24:21

North Korea threatens the United States with Thermonuclear weapons. Texas experiences the most severe natural disaster in U.S. history. Florida encounters the strongest Atlantic Hurricane in history. Los Angeles endures the most destructive wildfire ever to occur. The United States sees its first Total Solar Eclipse in 100 years. A series of Blood Moon’s on key prophetic days that many Biblical Scholars see as significant for the nation of Israel and the return of Messiah. The conjunction of the Kingly Planet Jupiter with the Constellations Virgo and Leo in what some assert as a sign that something profound is about to take place with the nation of Israel. Others are warning that the return of Jesus may take place in the near future as a result of all these “signs.”
The Bible describes a period of history called “The Great Tribulation,” in which nearly two-thirds of the people of earth will die by a series of twenty-one judgements. The Book of Revelation begins its description of these events by seven seal judgements at chapter six. These are followed by the seven trumpet judgments and finishes with seven bowl judgments.

Defense Secretary Mattis Warns North Korea It Risks 'Total Annihilation' – LA Times

Sunday, “Defense Secretary James Mattis warned Pyongyang against aggression against the United States or its allies, saying it would trigger a unified world response and what he termed the “total annihilation of a country, namely North Korea.

Many have asked if this crisis with North Korea is reason to be watchful for the return of Jesus Christ. Certainly Jesus intended that those who love Him would be ever watchful for His return, particularly when events are taking place around the world that Jesus said would take place just before He arrived.

The possibility of a global Thermonuclear War would necessitate the intervention of God. There are many prophecies of the Messiah that Jesus must still fulfill which would preclude the event of a war that could destroy most of the people on earth.

The Certainty of the Messianic Prophecies

COPYRIGHT WARNING

After Jesus had risen from the dead He told His disciples that everything He had said and done were direct fulfillments of what had been written for the Messiah. The Old Testament scriptures were constructed by God so that the world would know and understand that Jesus is the true Messiah. The fact that the Jews, did not receive their Messiah when He came, was also predicted by the prophets. Jesus held the jewish leaders responsible to know these prophecies and prepare the people for His arrival. The Jewish nation and people failed to recognize that time of their visitation. Jesus pronounced judgment upon their nation in a blindness that would last until the final days. That blindness has continued for nearly 2,000 years. Just 38 years after the nation of Israel rejected their Messiah, the Roman army destroyed Israel and the Temple and disbursed the Jews throughout the world.

Then Jesus said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  —Luke 24:44-47 Continue reading “The Certainty of the Messianic Prophecies”

Today, we are witnessing the unfolding of phenomenal events around the world:

One: a nuclear proliferation treaty with Iran, which greatly jeopardizes Israel.

Two: an American president who is perceived as weak and unwilling to take any serious military action to stop Russia or Iran.

Three: Russian president, Putin, who is using this weakness of president Obama, to move into the middle east.

Four: Increased violence in Israel by Palestinians that may lead to a new war in the Middle East.

These events will only spell certain danger for Israel. The prime minister of Israel; Benjamin Netanyahu, understands this threat. It is certain that he is near the time when he will order a pre emptive strike against Iran. This will draw Russian into the conflict, and likely begin the events of God and Magog, which are destined to be fulfilled just prior to, or just after, the beginning of the seven year Tribulation period. This event may, in fact, be the reason that a seven year peace treaty is signed between Israel and the surrounding nations. This seven year treaty will be the beginning of the seven year Tribulation. Before this event takes place, Jesus will return to remove His church from the world.

We are living during some of the most exciting days of human history. Although the world is not looking for the return of Jesus, we who know Him and love Him, are ever-watching for His soon return. When we see events that are taking place around the world and compare these things with what the Bible states about the last days, we are struck by the similarities.

“Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive
when he returns, we can live with him forever.”
—1 Thessalonians 5:10

Concerning the return of Jesus to the earth, here is what we know for certain: He came before, He promised to come again.

History is replete with many myths. There is no shortage of colorful people who have made grandiose claims over the years of recorded history. There are many critics of the Bible today who claim that Jesus is a fictitious person who never existed. When we examine the actual facts of antiquity, we find that Jesus not only existed and is a genuine person, history has left us a tremendous amount of proof for His existence. The detailed records of the Roman Senate, as well as the Jewish Talmud, both contain specific references to Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified under Pontius Pilate. These records are not complimentary nor sympathetic parties, but adversarial and hostile witnesses who describe Jesus as a false prophet, a disrupter of the peace, and the cause of great uprising in Israel during that period of history. The Romans and the Jews had no desire to preserve any record of Jesus life or death, yet this is precisely what they accomplished by their antagonistic comments in their preserved documents.

The records of the Romans and the Jews, both reveal that Jesus was in Jerusalem during the same period of time that the New Testament narrative places Him there.

Near the end of His ministry, Jesus promised His followers that He would come again when everything was ready. There were many events of world history that needed to take place first, before He could return. When theses things were completed, He said that He would come again.

I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. —John 14:2-3

When we speak of the “Last Days,” we should understand that this period of time began with the arrival of Jesus on the earth the first time. The last days will be concluded by “The Day of the Lord,” during the Tribulation period. The day of the Lord is specifically detailed in the book of Revelation chapters 6-19.

Some of the confusion over the timing of the Rapture has resulted from a lack of knowledge regarding the term: “The Day of the Lord.” This term is always used to describe the return of the Messiah to the earth, at the end of Daniel’s seventieth week; the seven year tribulation period. In 1 Thessalonians, chapter 4, Paul describes a very specific event in which He states that this information he is giving us, came directly from Jesus (by the word of the Lord).

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words. —1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

The Greek word for “caught up” is Harpazo.

Harpazo means “to be snatched away or taken away by force.”[1] It is a word in the Greek language that is used to describe a general who takes hostages by force. Harpazo is also used in the New Testament as translated—by force.

When this verse was translated from Greek into Latin, the word that the translators used here for “caught up” was the Latin word “Rapturo,” which is where the English word “Rapture” originated from. This is why we use the word “Rapture” to describe the event of Jesus’ return for His church, as described by Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

“We’ll be ‘caught up’ (Rapturo) with them (together with our loved ones) in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

Once again, this event is not the Second Coming of Jesus that is commonly spoken of. At the Rapture, we meet Jesus in the air, the atmosphere above the earth; not “tera firma,” earth itself.

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. —1 Thessalonians 4:17

Jesus is coming for His church prior to His return at His second coming, when He will be returning with His church.

The Land of Palestine: Who Does it Really Belong To?

COPYRIGHT WARNING

Palestine

How current events in the Middle East, may lead to an attack on Israel by Russia in the near future.

The issue of who has the right to inhabit the land of Palestine is a primary point of contention amongst Jews and Arabs in the world today. Both cultures and people have occupied this land over several hundred years, both have deep roots in their ancestry to Palestine.

First, to establish a correct basis for this discussion, it is important to look at the true origin of all things on this planet. Man has lived upon the earth for such a great deal of time that he has now become accustomed to the idea that ownership or rights of possession can be conveyed to certain people.

By virtue of its creation, the earth is the property of the LORD, and not men. As God created the universe and made this planet habitable for us, it is His. He has given this planet to all people; to use, to enjoy, to care for, and to share. We should understand that none of us owns the things that we possess; they are simply loaned to us while we are alive. Continue reading “The Land of Palestine: Who Does it Really Belong To?”

The Final Blood Moon of September 28, 2015, Arrives; Now What?

COPYRIGHT WARNING

ROB_5728-2 (1)

As we approach the arrival of the final of four blood moons that will take place on September 28, 2015, the specifics of what this event will mean, still seems unclear to many people.

First, this fourth blood moon will not be the end of the world. If you are expecting the Apocalypse to begin at the moment the blood moon reaches its peak at 10:47 Eastern Time in the United States, this will not happen.

The tetrad of four blood moons which have taken place over the past 500 years, have concerned the nation of Israel and her ability to exist in the Last Days. The final four blood moons that we have observed in 2014-2015, have all taken place on important Jewish Feast days; Passover and Tabernacles. The importance of this final blood moon, must also concern Israel and an event that will drastically effect her continuing ability to exist as a nation.

Many of us who study Bible Prophecy were hoping that the advent of these final four blood moons, the last of which, occurring in September, 2015, during the time that the Feasts of Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles all took place, would also bring the return of Jesus—at the Rapture. Clearly, this was not the time that the Lord has chosen to return, as the Feast of Trumpets has now come and gone and the Lord has not returned for His church. This is why it is important to not set dates for the Rapture. Continue reading “The Final Blood Moon of September 28, 2015, Arrives; Now What?”

The Sound of a Trumpet, Heard All Over the World

COPYRIGHT WARNING

This morning, I learned that in May of this year, during the feasts of Passover and Pentecost, in conjunction with the third of four blood moons, people around the world have been hearing the sound of a trumpet, coming from the heavens. In Germany, on a Youtube video, a young boy is seen standing in the street in utter fear as the sound of trumpet blast is heard. What makes this interesting is that this trumpet was heard on Sunday, during the feasts of Passover and Pentecost, when a blood moon also occurred.

In the Book of Revelation, chapter 4, John hears the sound like a trumpet, then he sees a door opening in heaven and hears the words: “come up here.” From that moment on, the church is not seen anywhere during chapters 6-18, when the events of the seven year tribulation are taking place. It appears that this sound of a trumpet and John being taken in the spirit, to heaven, are illustrations of the moment when the Rapture will take place and all those who love Jesus are taken from the earth by Him.

After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” Revelation 4:1 Continue reading “The Sound of a Trumpet, Heard All Over the World”

A Discussion With a Dear Jewish Friend, Regarding Messiah

COPYRIGHT WARNING

In the past week, I have had the great privilege of discussing the coming of Jesus as the Messiah, with many, many people. The advent of a fourth blood moon during the month of September, 2015, has opened up a wonderful world of exchange between those who do not believe and those who do.

One of the best questions that I received, was from a Jew who does not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. His difficulty is with the text of Jeremiah 23:5-6, where the Messiah is described as a “King, who prospered.” Since Jesus did not reign as a King, and He did not prosper (was crucified), in the mind of this person, Jesus could not be the Messiah.

The following is my discussion with “Israel.”

The Relationship Between the Blood Moon of September 2015 and Jesus Return

COPYRIGHT WARNING

ROB_5728-2 (1)

According to NASA and experts in Astronomy, the Blood Moon that will occur in September, 2015, is nothing remarkable; this phenomenon happens quite frequently and we should not read anything supernatural into this event.

When Jesus arrived on the earth the first time, there were “Signs in the Heavens,” in the form of a planet conjunction. This phenomenon was significant enough that several astronomers from the east made a long and difficult journey to Israel. There is credible evidence that these “Wise Men,” believed that this bright “star” that had appeared, was a fulfillment of the prophecies of Isaiah and Micah, which foretold that the promised Messiah would arrive on the earth at that time.

History also records a supernatural event that took place from 12 noon to 3 pm, on the day that Jesus was dying for the sins of the world on the cross. This event is documented by secular as well as Biblical sources.

Roman historian, Tertullian, describes an account by Phlegon, that a Total Solar Eclipse had taken place during the time that Jesus was crucified at Jerusalem.

“In the same hour (as the crucifixion), too, the light of day was withdrawn, when the sun at the very time was in his meridian blaze. Those who were not aware that this had been predicted about Christ, no doubt thought it an eclipse. You yourselves have an account of the world portent still in your archives (Phlegon’s account).”[1a]

The “archives,” that Phlegon refers to, are the Annals of Rome. These are the official records of history that were meticulously kept at the Roman Senate. This is corroboration of the New Testament text that Jesus was on the cross, crucified, died, and that darkness took place at the specific time that the narrative of the New Testament writers says that it happened.[1b]

Julius Africanus also records that Roman historian, Thallus, stated that the darkness that took place during Jesus’ crucifixion could not have been caused by a solar eclipse. The feast of Passover is always observed on the 14th day of Nissan (April), during a full moon. A solar eclipse can only occur during a new moon. It is astronomically impossible for a total eclipse of the sun to occur, concurrent with a full moon. [1c] Therefore, the darkness from noon to 3pm, that is reported in the New Testament, could not have been caused by a total solar eclipse.

If the Sun was obscured and darkness fell over the entire earth for three hours, and it was not a Total Solar Eclipse, what was it? History records that it took place and science cannot explain it. The Bible simply states that God caused this event in response to the death of His Son.

On the same evening of Jesus crucifixion, historians also confirm a second event that is recorded by both the Bible and secular historians; on the evening of that same day; a Total Lunar Eclipse occurred, displaying a “Blood Moon.” This event was confirmed by Astronomer, Colin J. Humphreys by use of computer models which recreated the astronomical events that took place in 32 A.D.

Too many coincidences

Scientists will tell us that these three occurrences are simply coincidences that just happened to take place during the time of Jesus birth, and death. They say that they are perfectly natural phenomenon that can be explained by science and astronomy; We don’t need God, nor the Bible to explain what happened.

As we look at the thousands of times in the history of the world when supernatural events have taken place, there are just too many to conclude that they were all coincidences.

The following are the facts that surround the signs in the heavens that took place when Jesus arrived on the earth the first time, at His death, and are predicted to take place once again when He returns to earth. Forgetting the Rapture

COPYRIGHT WARNING

In writing my new book: “Dead or Alive,” I began to research the internet to see what the opinions of people are today, concerning the return of Jesus. I was shocked to discover that a great number of Christians no longer believe that the Rapture is real and will take place. On one particular web site, a young man has written extensively that he once was very excited about the return of Jesus—until he attended a Christian University. Wanting to discover the philosophy of that particular school, regarding the return of Jesus, this young student made an appointment with one of the course counselors for an interview. The professor began to tell this young man that the problem with the doctrine of the Rapture is that it is not in the Bible. These words, eventually caused this once excited young student to forget his anticipation of Jesus soon return. Today, he writes articles that encourages other people to not be looking for the return of Jesus at the Rapture.

Is the Rapture in the Bible? See for yourself

It is clear that Jesus had informed Peter that in the last days, before His return to earth for His church, there would be widespread abandonment of the Rapture hope, amongst those who claim to be followers of Jesus. This would be a sign to those who still believed that the return of the Lord was imminent.

Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” —2Peter 3:1-4 Continue reading “Forgetting the Rapture”
