Salvation Without Baptism, Altar Call, or Church Membership

COPYRIGHT WARNING

According to many Theologians, Churches, and individual Christians, a person cannot be saved apart from Baptism, or membership in their particular church. The final authority on all matters of doctrine resides with the Bible, not what men say, nor the tradition of the church. According to Jesus, the requirements for salvation are extremely simple and even the worst sinner may find forgiveness and eternal life–even during the final moments of their life.

As a person goes through each one of the individual parts of the Old Testament prophecies that Jesus fulfilled, we are struck with the details that are included in these many faceted predictions.

In the prophecies of Isaiah chapter 53, we see the specific detail that the Messiah will be condemned and put to death along with other criminals. Although this may be seen as a very common occurrence in the carrying out of a sentence for crimes committed, in the case of a prophecy written over 700 years in advance of its fulfillment, this detail is a stunning inclusion.

Isaiah 53:12c Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.

Luke 23:32-33 There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left.

When we examine the New Testament, we discover that there were two thieves who were also condemned to die by crucifixion along with Jesus. They are placed on either side of the Lord. At first, it seems that both condemned men ridicule Jesus for also being crucified along with them. After one of these men witnesses the grace and the love with which Jesus endures His suffering, praying for those who placed Him on the Cross, this dying criminal has a change of heart. He cries out to Jesus: Lord, Remember me when you come into Your kingdom. A subtle statement of salvation from a man doomed to die, during the final moments of his life. Though his confession is short and simple, yet it is sufficient to move Jesus to pronounce him: forgiven and worthy of eternal life.

Israel: What More Could God Do?

COPYRIGHT WARNING

The Lord saw Israel as His vineyard. He planted her, tended her, nourished and protected her. When the time came for Him to enjoy the fruit of His vineyard, He found only wild grapes. It was the task of Israel to make the Messiah known to the world when He arrived. Instead they rejected Him and put Him to death. Therefore, God gave this task to the Gentiles—through the church, who was birthed as a result of the Messiah’s death and resurrection.

We know from Isaiah 5:1-7, God is speaking of the Messiah, as a result of Jesus teaching concerning the 11th Parable, called: The Parable of the workers in the vineyard. Jesus uses almost identical language in describing Israel as God’s vineyard in Matthew 21:33-43. Continue reading “Israel: What More Could God Do?”

The Hope of Resurrection and the Despair of Atheism

COPYRIGHT WARNING

There are two principles that are put forth concerning the state of human beings after death. One, a resurrection–into eternal life, and two, the end of all life–an eternal non existence. According to the Atheist philosophy, after death the body ceases to function and there is no life or spirit which continues to exist. The hope of the Christian Gospel, promises a resurrection of the physical body after death–in an eternal dwelling with God. The promise of resurrection has been described repeatedly throughout the 4,500 year old portions of the Hebrew scriptures, and confirmed by the writers of the New Testament–over 2,000 years ago. The promise of resurrection is closely linked to the prophetic portions of scripture which describe the Messiah as the one who has the power to raise the dead to life–eternally. Why God Chose Only One Way To Heaven

COPYRIGHT WARNING

How can a person know for certain, the correct path to God? There are hundreds of religions, churches, and public speakers who claim to be the only bridge between God and man.

First, we must ask: Are there really many paths to God, or is there a single method by which God requires human beings to travel? When this question is answered by those who are uniformed and have no real knowledge of these matters, almost universally, the answer is: All paths lead to God. When we take the time to study the various religions of the world, we find that there is only one which stands apart from all others as logical, practical, universal, and cosmologically viable. The God of the Hebrews revealed Himself in a way that compels the reasonable person to conclude—He must be the One true God. Continue reading “Why God Chose Only One Way To Heaven”

It is Difficult to be an Atheist

COPYRIGHT WARNING

In this article:

1. The rules of debate and laws for evidence and how points of fact and objections should be conducted.
2. The Impossibility of convincing an atheist that God exists.
3. The true reasons that people will not believe in God.
4. Defeating arguments for God, comforts the conscience.
5. Points of fact concerning the universe as evidence for God.
6. Points of fact concerning man as evidence for God.
7. God as a necessary reason for everything.

It is very difficult to maintain the position of an atheist without appearing as rather untrained and uniformed. Many of the arguments set forth by the atheist, when turned in examination of their assertions—leaves the reader without a sufficient basis to conclude that God cannot exist. In fact—when the claims of the atheists are carefully examined, it can be determined that the are immensely uniformed about the subject of God, the Bible, and the true doctrines of the Christian faith. Although these are the very subject to which they speak as authorities, it can frequently be demonstrated that they have no real knowledge about any of these subjects in which they dispute. Jesus Claimed That He Is Proof That God Exists

COPYRIGHT WARNING

The Hebrew scriptures describe a time during the history of the earth when God will once and forever, prove that He exists. Isaiah’s prophecy of the Messiah–describes Him as “Mighty God.” When Jesus arrived on the earth, He told Phillip: “If you have seen me, you have seen God.

When John penned His narrative of Jesus in the New Testament, he describes Jesus as the Eternal Word of God, the “Logos.”

The Religious leaders of Israel picked up stones to kill Jesus, because He had claimed that He was God.

Many skeptics claim that there is no proof for God–if He exists, then He would show Himself to us.

Today, this demand for evidence has been met by Jesus. He came to earth as God–in the form of a man, so that as one of us, He could offer His life as a ransom to redeem every human being from the penalty of our sins–back to God.

It is impossible to legitimately claim today that there is no proof for the existence of God. In these last days, God has revealed Himself, as He has spoken to us, through His Son–by whom He made the universe and everything within it.  Continue reading “Jesus Claimed That He Is Proof That God Exists”

The Empirical Evidence For The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

COPYRIGHT WARNING

The facts of Jesus scourging and crucifixion are intricately attested to by the four Gospels of the New Testament. The certainty that these events took place, is firmly established in history as indisputable matters of fact.[1]

By the vast number of Old Testament prophecies, we have compelling evidence that the events of the Messiah’s scourging and His subsequent crucifixion, were well known and widely understood by the Old Testament scriptures. By the prophecies of Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22, we have 55 detailed predictions of every possible aspect of the crucifixion of the Messiah (see Prophecy 242).

When we arrive at the New Testament and discover that both the Bible and Secular history authenticate that Jesus of Nazareth was scourged and then crucified in stunning fulfillment of the many Old Testament references, we have great confidence that Jesus is the Messiah who is described by these prophecies.[2]

Today, the world’s leading scholars agree that the crucifixion of Jesus is an established fact that is based on empirical evidence.[3] As matters of history, the events of the scourging and crucifixion are described as ranking so high in certainty that they are considered by experts as impossible to deny. These facts are the very basis for a foundation that Jesus of Nazareth lived, died, and rose from the dead, in confirmation of the the New Testament narrative.[4] The reason that these facts are certain is that we have the corroboration of not only the Bible, but secular history. The orders of Pontius Pilate to have Jesus scourged and crucified is documented by one of the greatest Roman historians ever to write on this period, Tacitus.[5]

Man’s Evolution as a Moral Being

COPYRIGHT WARNING

This world cries out for “Peace,” but in all the history of man upon the earth, there has never been a sustained period of time in which peace reigned.

In the last 3,000 years of man’s recorded history, there has only been 286 years without a war. There have been over 15,000 wars resulting in 4 billion deaths.[1]

For the humanist, materialist, and non-theist, this record is a stunning indictment upon the premise that man is evolving into a more civilized and peaceful species.[1a] In fact, the opposite is true. As time progresses, men simply develop more creative ways to kill other men. The Biblical view of man as a fallen being, who is incapable of peace, is precisely what the evidence validates. Unless God intervenes in the history of mankind, we would certainly annihilate our species and destroy the earth.

Life on Other Planets

COPYRIGHT WARNING

Scientists understand today that the original assumption that there must be many millions of other planets in the universe, like earth, perfectly suited for life, is now highly implausible. When all the requirements necessary for life are considered, there is very little chance that we will ever find intelligent life on any other planet. Why did the Lord make such a vast and expansive universe, if only to inhabit one tiny planet with Life? The obvious answer is that He was not concerned with making good use of the vastness of the Cosmos, He wanted to display His creative power, much in the same way that a great artist might fill up a canvas with a demonstration of his creative ability.

Psalm 19:1 The a heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. 2 Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. 3 They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. 4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. Christian Frauds and Pretenders

COPYRIGHT WARNING

There are many people, who over the course of their life, meet an individual who has claimed to be a Christian—who has exhibited behavior that is contrary to their particular belief, and caused other people to discount God altogether.

An enduring fact of life is that one of the leading causes of atheism is Christianity. Not that Jesus is the point of stumbling, but rather those who claim to follow him. Many people attribute the behavior of a person to the character of the God they claim to believe in. Forgetting that the Christian Gospel clearly declares that Jesus came into the world to save “sinners,” not the righteous. It is the very worst of the world that Jesus is most appealing to. The Christian life in following Jesus is frequently imperfect and lacking the basic qualities of love, patience, humility, and forgiveness. Those who are trying to follow Jesus will never be perfect in this life, although they should endeavor, constantly, to be more like Jesus in all their behavior.

It should also be understood that many people who take the name of “Christian,” are frauds. For reasons of personal financial gain or to achieve a position of authority or power, many individuals will label themselves a follower of Christ, without this fact being true.
